The Munich xR specialists are partnering with Taiwanese AR hardware pioneer Jorjin Technologies as part of the German-Taiwanese ZIM International funding programme
Munich / New Taipei City, April 1, 2026 – StellDirVor GmbH, a leading provider of xR and AI solutions for the healthcare sector in the German-speaking region, today announces together with the Taiwanese AR smart glasses specialist Jorjin Technologies Inc. the official launch of the ARAIAS project (AR-/AI-enabled ASsistence). The joint project is developing an intelligent, augmented-reality-based system for chronic wound care and documentation, setting new standards in nursing education and continuing professional development.
Background and objectives of the project
Chronic wounds affect millions of people and pose enormous challenges for nursing staff every day: time-consuming documentation, inconsistent assessment and a growing shortage of skilled professionals are exacerbating the situation. ARAIAS addresses these issues with a holistic approach: AR smart glasses, 3D imaging, AI-powered wound analysis and an integrated tele-nursing function for remote expertise combine to form an end-to-end solution for everyday clinical practice – completely hands-free.
The 24-month project is funded under the 8th German-Taiwanese call for joint SME R&D projects (ZIM International). A total of around €1.3 million will be invested. While clinical validation in hospitals will take place in Taiwan, Germany will begin trials in nursing schools and simulation labs before the solution is transferred into routine clinical operation.
Strong partnership: StellDirVor and Jorjin Technologies
The collaboration brings together complementary core competencies: Jorjin Technologies Inc. from New Taipei City is responsible for AR hardware and system integration. As an experienced OEM/ODM manufacturer of AR smart glasses with more than two decades of expertise and ISO 13485-certified production lines, Jorjin develops modular AR glasses with 3D sensors, high-resolution displays, gesture and eye tracking, as well as innovative collaborative dual-brain interfaces for real-time nursing. In addition, Jorjin is responsible for AR-based medication verification and automated documentation.
StellDirVor GmbH from Munich contributes its expertise from the healthcare industry and develops the software intelligence of the system: AI models for 3D wound segmentation, tissue analysis and assessment of healing progress are being developed, as are standardised learning and training modules for nursing education and
continuing professional development in Germany. Together with Jorjin and clinical partners – including the Reutlingen District Clinics – training data will be collected in real nursing environments and the systems validated under practical conditions.
Significance for the German healthcare market
With ARAIAS, StellDirVor is establishing a first-mover position in AR/AI within the German-speaking healthcare sector. The system addresses several urgent needs at once: improved accuracy in wound diagnostics, significant relief for nursing staff, greater hygiene and patient safety, and the development of a new generation of nursing professionals with strong digital and AI competencies. The solution is consistently aligned with the requirements of the European digital strategy in healthcare and lays the foundation for an interoperable, intelligent care ecosystem.
"With ARAIAS, together with Jorjin Technologies we are breaking completely new ground – in the best possible sense. For the first time, we are combining AI-powered wound diagnostics, AR assistance and nursing education in a hands-free hardware platform. I am convinced that this will not only transform wound care, but also demonstrate how transnational deep-tech collaborations can future-proof the European healthcare sector."
Petra Dahm, CIO, StellDirVor GmbH
"Jorjin Technologies brings over two decades of AR smart glasses expertise to this partnership. Together with StellDirVor, we are turning cutting-edge hardware into a real clinical solution – one that will directly benefit nurses, patients and healthcare systems in both Germany and Taiwan. ARAIAS demonstrates that technology knows no borders when the mission is human wellbeing."
